My Appointment

So...I went to my appointment today and talked to my doctor about all of my concerns. She said everything is perfectly normal. My muscles are really loose from having Brianne and it has caused all my insides to be pushed out.

In short, everything is normal and A-OK!! Eric was able to go with me and we heard the heartbeat, it was wonderful. I will be having an ultrasound in about 4 weeks to make sure baby is growing normal and NOT find out the sex (hopefully). Of course I will be posting all the pictures we get.

My next appointment will be in 4 weeks on August 26th.

Belly

Well this morning I woke up and found that my baby belly was quite protruded. It was a very round bump that stuck out from my tummy about 5 inches or so. This still worries me. I feel I am much too advanced for where I should be in my pregnancy. I can't wait to see my doctor on Tuesday. I will post what I find out.

Week 14

Here is what BabyCenter says about Baby Reeves this week:
How your baby's growing:
This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, facial muscles are getting a workout as tiny features form one expression after another. The kidneys are producing urine, which releases into the amniotic fluid around — a process that will keep up until birth. Baby can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch baby sucking a thumb.

In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, measuring 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and weighs 1 1/2 ounces. Baby's body's growing faster than the head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, the arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of the body. (The legs still have some lengthening to do.) Baby's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over the body. Your baby's liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it's doing its job right — and the spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can't feel the tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist's hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active.

My baby at 13 weeks

Here is what BabyCenter says about my baby at 13 weeks:
How your baby's growing:
Fingerprints have formed on your baby's tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head — which makes up just a third of her body size now. If you're having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Your baby is almost 3 inches long (the size of a medium shrimp) and weighs nearly an ounce.

A heavy sensation

I don't know if it is because I know what I am feeling this time or what, but my uterus is feeling very heavy. It is getting more and more uncomfortable to lay on my back. I can really feel my uterus popping out, which worries my a little because I am only 13 weeks along. What does this mean.....?

Hormones

Well the hormones are really starting to kick in. Yesterday I was at Walmart buying diapers with Brianne's daycare. I stood in front of the diaper isles and almost cried because I couldn't figure out what kind of diapers I wanted to buy. Then I wandered around the store aimlessly for awhile in a daze. I finally snapped myself out of that and decided I had to get something for dinner. I at least decided to go with something simple before I felt the tears welling up in my eyes. I decided on a skillet meal, easy right?...No! I went to the frozen section to get one and dripped a couple of tears because there were too many to choose from.

Yeah pregnancy!

Week 12

Here is what Baby Center says is happening to baby right now...

How your baby's growing:
The most dramatic development this week: Reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder.

Meanwhile, nerve cells are multiplying rapidly, and in your baby's brain, synapses are forming furiously. His face looks unquestionably human: His eyes have moved from the sides to the front of his head, and his ears are right where they should be. From crown to rump, your baby-to-be is just over two inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce.

Growing along

I can feel that my uterus has finally come above my pelvic bone. I am feeling the pressure just above the bone and can feel it when I push on my lower stomach. I can't wait until I can feel my little one moving around in there!

Baby Appointment #3

I had my third appointment today and got a wonderful treat. They were having a hard time hearing the baby's heartbeat, so I needed to get an ultrasound done. We were able to get an adorable picture of our little one.

My next appointment is set for July 29th.

Where my pregnancy is today...

Here is what Baby Center is telling me about my little one:
Your pregnancy: 11 weeks

Your baby, just over 1 1/2 inches long and about the size of a fig, is now almost fully formed. Baby's hands will soon open and close into fists, tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under the gums, and some of the bones are beginning to harden.

Baby's already busy kicking and stretching, and the tiny movements are so effortless they look like water ballet. These movements will become more frequent as baby's body grows and becomes more developed and functional. You won't feel your baby's acrobatics for another month or two — nor will you notice the hiccupping that may be happening now that the diaphragm is forming.
