Being sick while pregnant is the pits!

I hate being sick while pregnant. One of the downsides to pregnancy is when you get sick you can't take any medicine that works worth a hoot. Usually when I am sick I like to get through it in a NyQuil fog. Mostly sleeping my way through it. If I can take NyQuil for about a day and sleep it off, I am great. When pregnant, this is a BIG NO, NO! I just get to suffer through with Vitamin C, Fluids and Rest (and the occasional squirt of nose spray). The toughest part is still having to take care of the family and house. I definitely don't feel up to doing that, but, I am a mom and I will prevail!!

Week 28

BabyCenter says this about my little bundle this week:
How your baby's growing:
By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of the head to the heels. Baby can blink his/her eyes, which now sport lashes. With eyesight developing, baby may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. Baby's also developing billions of neurons in the brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.

Week 27

BabyCenter says the following about little baby reeves:
How your baby's growing:
This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with the legs extended. Baby's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing the eyes, and perhaps even sucking on fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While the lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if baby were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother baby, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.

Weird Dreams...

As with the pregnancy with Bree, I am having weird dreams again. Last time they mainly focused on Eric dying. This time they are focused on Eric leaving me for someone else, about one every night (when I sleep through the night). I have nothing to base this on other than him being more irritated with me this pregnancy. He forgets that when I was pregnant with Brianne our lives were very different. We didn't have a mortgage to worry about, I wasn't working, he wasn't in school, he didn't hate his job, and we didn't have a three year old. All of those factors are making this pregnancy much different. We are both so tired and I am especially more tired. My second trimester is the hardest for me, I have trouble standing for extended periods of time, which makes doing chores around the house hard. Eric has had to pitch in a lot more and he is not used to that. He does it, but not always quietly. I then remind him that I am growing a new little human being inside me, and he says yeah I know, sorry.

Family

I have really been wanting to spend time with my family with this pregnancy. I have wanted to be close to them. I have needed closeness. I love having all of my family in town. I really enjoy being around them. Yeah for family!

The body is an amazing thing

It never ceases to amaze me how amazing a machine the body is, especially a woman's. When you are pregnant, your body goes through so many changes and your body just knows exactly what to do. It is incredible how the way your brain and body functions change as the baby needs. For example: normally I hate hotdogs, and I mean H-A-T-E hotdogs. All this baby wants to crave this pregnancy is hotdogs and for some reason I can stomach them. The thought of eating hotdogs still is gross, but the urge to eat one is much more overpowering.
The body is an amazing machine!

Week 26

BabyCenter says this about little baby Reeves this week: How your baby's growing:
The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. Baby may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. Baby's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of the lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when baby's born and takes that first gulp of air. And baby is continuing to put on baby fat. The baby now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel.

Week 25

BabyCenter says: How your baby's growing
Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. The weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but baby's beginning to exchange the long, lean look for some baby fat. As baby does, the wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and baby will start to look more and more like a newborn. Baby's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.

This time around...

...things are different. This pregnancy Eric and I are both more tired and are taking it out on each other. Eric is more guilty of this, only because he has way more on his plate this time. He is also having to help with Brianne more because I physically can't. The second trimester for me is always to really "weak" one. I am easily exhausted and often times can't stand/move for long periods of time. It appears as laziness and Eric gets frustrated with this.
